Trekking in Terskei Ala-Too Mountains
(Across the Northeastern part of Kyrgyzstan to Lake Ala-Kol)
The trekking through the Terskei Ala-Too Range surrounds the basin of Lake Issyk-Kul from the south. Its crest extends for 375 kilometers in a latitudinal direction and rises to 5,216 meters above sea level in its highest part, to the south of Karakol city (formerly Przhevalsk).
The average height of the ridge is about 4,500 meters. The Terskei Ala-Too Range is very beautiful in its diversity of landscapes. In one day you can see the unusual red sandy rocks, wild forest and snow peaks, widely spread around the greatest Lake Issyk-Kul. Each gorge is unique in its look.
Dzhety-Oguz. This very picturesque area is famous for its Seven Bulls and Broken Heart rocks. Seven Bulls is an ensemble, consisting of red rocks towering above the resort area, and Broken Heart is a symbol of love, which gave rise to many beautiful legends. Legends, in turn, attract not only tourists, but also lovers living in nearby villages. On Friday, Saturday and Sunday you can see wedding processions coming here to pay tribute to the symbol of love and relax in nature.
