One of the places to visit in Kyrgyzstan in 2022
During the holidays in May we decided to visit Sary-Chelek lake. 10 hours drive along a beautiful route through mountain passes. Honestly, we did not notice how time flew by. We could not tear our eyes away from all the beauty that swept past the window. We wanted to take pictures of everything outside: the Too-Ashuu pass, the Suusamyr valley, the Toktogul reservoir, the Naryn river and much more. For lunch we stopped in the Chichkan gorge and continued on our way to our goal.
Accommodation in Sary-Chelek
On the way to the Sary-Chelek nature reserve, you can stay in the village of Arkit or Ak-Su. Both villages are located about 20 km from the reserve. We stopped in a small guest house under a rock. Nearby there was a mountain river and a small waterfall, which could be reached in 10 minutes. Guest houses in this area are small, but with basic amenities. You can always get to know the owner and his family. In the evening we had a delicious dinner - fried fish. And of course, a perfect sleep after a long journey.
Sary-Chelek Nature Reserve
In the morning, after a delicious breakfast, we drove to the reserve itself. Along the way there will be a panoramic view where you can see the whole valley and villages.
Further along the way there is a small lake and the culmination of the whole trip is the large lake Sary-Chelek. In spring, there is a special beauty here - trees and flowers bloom. The slopes of the mountains are covered with yellow wild tulips. This is an incredible place! You can climb higher and sit alone, admire the beautiful water surface, breathe in the aromas of flowering plants.
This place is beautiful in its own way at any time of the year. The best seasons to visit it: spring, summer and autumn. In summer there are more flowers here, and in autumn the slopes of the mountains are covered with bright colors.
