Guided ski touring trip
(Skiing in Kyrgyzstan)
The Terskey-Ala-Too Range is located in the north-eastern part of Kyrgyzstan and embraces the Issyk-Kul Hollow from the south. Its ridge extends for 375 kilometers in the latitudinal direction and rises to 5,281 meters above sea level (Karakolsky peak) in its highest part. The average height of the range is about 4,500 m. Due to Lake Issyk-Kul the climate here is mild and there is a high level of precipitations. So, the skiing season starts in December and lasts till the end of March. The Karakol ski-resort, located 8 km from Karakol town is the most popular among skiers and snowboarders not only in Kyrgyzstan. You can do off-piste skiing there.
The next destination is Zhyrgalan or Dzhergalan. It is a unique valley of the Central Tien Shan. It is fenced from Issyk-Kul by a mountain range. So, there are no strong winds and snow stays for the whole season, which starts in mid-late November and lasts till the end of April. Recent years it was longer. This area provides virgin slopes and you can become the first to cut them. The cozy guest house and friendly atmosphere create a special home feeling as the surrounding nature brings harmony and appeasement.
Other destination, like the Boz-Uchuk and Irdyk gorges, are worth visiting, there you will enjoy ski-touring in the less visited spots. The Irdyk plateau is located on the northern slope of the Terskei Ala-Too Range in the Dzhety-Oguz region of the Issyk-Kul area.
This very exciting tour will give you the opportunity to enjoy different destinations like Karakol, Dzhergalan. Irdyk. Boz-Uchuk and good powder and not frequently visiting spots. You will ski on slopes up to 40 degrees and gain about 1,000 meters. Our professional KMGA guides will provide their fully support and experience during the whole tour. Also, you will observe local life, taste traditional food. Be sure, you wil like this adventure in Kyrgyzstan!
