4-Day Kyrgyzstan Tour: North to South— 2026
Kyrgyzstan Tour from North to South via the Alternative Road
(4-Day Kyrgyzstan Tour: North to South)
This four-day Kyrgyzstan tour connects Bishkek and Osh via an unusual route through Kochkor, the high-altitude village of Kazarman and the ancient walnut forests of Arslanbob. The journey follows the new North–South alternative road, away from popular tourist routes and large tour groups.
Here, the road itself becomes an important part of the adventure. Mountain passes, vast pastures, rocky gorges, small villages and the warm valleys of southern Kyrgyzstan unfold outside your window. In just a few days, the route reveals the remarkable diversity of the country’s landscapes, culture and everyday life.
Along the way, you will walk through the red-rock Kok-Moinok Canyon, visit a traditional felt-carpet workshop in Kochkor, travel through little-known mountain regions and stay in local guesthouses. In Arslanbob, you will discover the famous walnut forests, while ancient Uzgen offers a historic architectural complex, rice fields and lunch with a local family.
The tour ends in Osh, one of the oldest cities in Central Asia and an important stop on the Great Silk Road. This journey is ideal for travellers who want to cross Kyrgyzstan from north to south, explore lesser-known places and experience the country’s traditions through local encounters, crafts and homemade food.
