Trip to the south of Kyrgyzstan

Bishkek - Osh – Arslanbob (200 km / 3h). Today we will have a flight to the southern capital of Kyrgyzstan - the city of Osh. Osh is known for its ancient mosque and Mount Suleiman-Too (the throne of Solomon) which is a pilgrimage site for Central Asian Muslims. At Osh airport we will be met by a car that will take us to the Arslanbob gorge. The road will take us about 3 hours. Upon arrival, we will be accommodated in the house of local residents and have lunch. After lunch, we will take a short walk to the waterfall which reaches a height of 25 m. The walk will take about half an hour. After the walk we will climb the panorama from where you can see the entire gorge. We will have some time to enjoy the view and take wonderful photos. Dinner and night at the house of local residents.

. This day we will spend in the gorge. We will take another walk to the second waterfall which is much larger than the first and reaches a height of 80 m. This walk will take us about 2 hours. Arslanbob is a natural forest that appeared in ancient times. Some scholars claim that its age may exceed 50 million years. Its area is about 700,000 hectares and numerous walnut, pistachio, almond, cherry plum, pear and many other trees grow on this vast territory (about 130 species of plants). Some walnut trees are over a thousand years old. Arslanbob is the largest walnut forest in the world and belongs to the protected areas of Kyrgyzstan.
We will spend our day walking along the shady paths of the walnut forest and in the evening we will watch a folklore show of national Kyrgyz instruments. Overnight at the guest house.

Arslanbob – Osh. After Breakfast we will depart to the city of Osh. On the way, we will visit the ancient city of Uzgen which was founded in the 8-9 centuries on the steep terrace of the Kara-Daria River. It was once a major shopping center with a powerful fortress. To this day, only the architectural complex built in the 11-12th centuries has been preserved. It consists of three mausoleums which were originally the tombs of the Karakhanid rulers and the Uzgen minaret itself which reaches a height of 27 meters.
After an excursion to the amazing structures of the early Middle Ages we will have lunch at a local cafe and then visit the famous Uzgen rice market where one can find more than 20 varieties of rice. Arrival in the city of Osh where there is going to be a small city tour with a visit to the Suleiman-Too mountain and the central square. Late flight to Bishkek is going to be at the end of the day. The car will meet you at the airport Manas and take you back to Bishkek. End of the program.
