What is Kamchatka? It is volcanoes, geysers, mineral hot springs; these are amazing green expanses, crystal clear turbulent rivers, beautiful waterfalls and slopes of harsh mountains covered with igneous rock; these are brown bears, sea delicacies and rookeries of seals and sea lions on the shores of the bay overlooking the Pacific Ocean.
The volcanoes of Kamchatka make an extraordinary sight. This region is famous for its volcanoes all over the world. There are so many of them here that more than 35% of the territory of the peninsula is just volcanoes.
Out of the 30 active volcanoes in Kamchatka there are 3 or 4 that erupt annually. Often erupts one of the youngest volcanoes - the Karymsky volcano. The highest and most picturesque active volcano in Eurasia Klyuchevskaya Sopka (about 4700m) is also located here. Due to its activity, the volcano itself and the territory around it are constantly changing.
