Kel-Tor- mountainous lake in the gorge Kel-Tor (Kegety, Kyrgyz range)
The mountain lake Kel-Tor is located 86 km from the city of Bishkek on the northern slopes of the Kyrgyz ridge. It is located at an altitude of 2725 meters above sea level. Here you can enjoy walks in the spruce forest along mountain ash, honeysuckle, dogrose, raspberry and barberry, which are later replaced by juniper bushes and alpine meadows.
The lake itself was formed as a result of an earthquake and is a lake of a damming type. The water in the lake has a beautiful turquoise hue. The water temperature is not suitable for swimming, as it is quite cold and in summer it warms up to only 5 degrees.
Walking route to the lake is about 8 kilometers one way. The road will take 3-5 hours.
