Country of Tien-Shan (Terskey-Ala-Too) - Kyrgyzstan
You love the Alps? But now they have become so crowded. A good alternative to the Alps is trekking in the mountains of Tien Shan. Trekking on Terskey Ala-Too is much similar to trekking in the Alps, but there is a big difference between them. In Kyrgyzstan there are few people in the mountains and the variety of nature will surprise even the most experienced Alp lovers!
Terskey Ala-Too ridge is located in the northeastern part of Kyrgyzstan and closes from the south the basin of Lake Issyk-Kul. It stretches out for 375 kilometers and rises to its highest part at the south of the city of Karakol (formerly Przhevalsk) at 5216 meters above sea level. The average height of the ridge is about 4500 m. Terskey Ala-Too is very beautiful in its variety of landscapes. In one day you can see the beauty of red sandy rocks, wild forests and snowy peaks going along the great lake of Issyk-Kul. And each gorge is unique.
Our trekking on Terskey Ala-Too will pass through several gorges, passes. Beautiful mountain lake will be the culmination of our campaign.
So, let's begin!

Jeti-Oguz. This is a very picturesque area known for its бфыышму stone formations: "Seven Bulls" and "Broken Heart". "Seven Bulls" is an ensemble consisting of the red rocks towering over the resort area, and "Broken Heart" is a symbol of love, which has given birth to many beautiful legends. Legends in turn attract not only tourists, but loving couples living in nearby villages. On Friday, Saturday and Sunday you can see the wedding processions coming here to pay tribute to the "symbol of love" and enjoy the nature. The uppermost part of the gorge is closed by the multimeter wall. In the middle of the wall stands a beautiful double top Oguz-Bashi peak (head of a bull) with the height of 5181 m. This is compared to the beauty of the Swiss Alps - the Jungfrau mountain.
Karakol gorge. This gorge is easily visible from the city of Karakol. Especially its peaks, such as: Karakol (5280 m), Dzhigit (5130 m), Przewalski (4283 m). In the summer at their foot there are lots of mountaineering camps. There are also other interesting places to see: waterfalls, located in the thickets of juniper bushes and numerous moraine lakes located in the upper valley.
Altyn Arashan Gorge. "Gold Spring" it is named in honor of the healing hot springs emanating from the ground here. Water sources contain radon and used in the treatment of nervous system diseases. The gorge is very picturesque. At an altitude of 2,600 meters on the right bank of the river there is a wide valley with spruce forest, green meadows with fragrant flowers and a small resort. In addition to the hot springs attraction Altyn Arashan has moraine lakes. One particularly popular - Lake Ala-Kul.
