This tour includes 3 towns of China which will be very interesting to visit. They are Kashgar with its famous sunday bazaar, Turpan with famous Bezeklik Thousand Buddha Caves which consist of 67 caves and was an important worshipping place for Buddhists and Urumqi with its collection of Silk Road treasures, mummies from Taklamakan desert and Red Hill park which is unique for making reddish-brown rocks.

Day 1 Torugart – Kashgar – 170 km

Transfer to China via Torugart, drive to Kashgar.

Day 2 Kashgar

Full day sightseeing in Kashgar

Visit the largest mosque in China Id-Kah (1442) located on the busy square, Tomb of Abak Khoja which is the holiest place in Xinjiang for Sufis (1640), handicraft street and old parts of the town.

Day 3 Kashgar (Sunday)

In the morning we will visit the colorful and unique Sunday market called by local people “bazaar” where you will be able to see a huge number of sections: knives, pots and pans, silk and cotton, vegetables and fruits, jewelry and a great amount of different carpets. There you will also find a separate section of livestock located 6 km from the main bazaar. You will be able to know a lot about Uyghur people and bargain for the goods and crafts.

Day 4 Kashgar – Urumqi – Turpan

In the morning we will have a short flight to Urumqi and then drive from there to Turpan. On the road we will see the biggest wind power station in Asia; there are about 350 wind mills that provide electricity for the people of Urumqi.

Turpan itself is located 505 feet below the sea level and very popular for its grape valleys and melons.

In the afternoon we will visit the historical museum with the artifacts collected from the area, visit the local bazaar, Emin Minaret which is very tall, about 44 m and see the mosque.

Day 5 Turpan

Today we will visit the famous Bezeklik Thousand Buddha Caves which consist of 67 caves dating from 317 to 1368, this was an important worshipping place for Buddhists.

The other point of our visit will be the ruins of Gaochang ancient city built in the 2nd century and once being the capital of Gaochang Kingdom under the Han’s dynasty destroyed around 14th century. Here we will get inside the Astana tombs to see the well preserved mummies and wall paintings which date back to 2 century AD.

We will also see the flaming mountains which seem to be burning at the middle of the day under the sun.

Day 6 Turpan – Urumqi

In the morning we will drive back to Urumqi. Here we will see the regional museum with the collection of Silk Road treasures, well preserved mummies from Taklamakan desert and the Xinjiang’s minority vulture exhibitions. Visit the Red Hill park which is unique for making reddish-brown rocks. Visitors may see a great panorama from the top of the Red Hill as it stands about 8 meters high.

We will also visit the old part of the town and the market where all Uighur handicrafts are sold.

Day 7 Flight home

Today morning you will be transferred to the airport from where you will have a flight home.(B)
