Agricultural tours

In Kyrgyzstan people breed cattle such as horses, cows, sheep and yaks; they grow fields of cotton, corn, sun-seeds and different types of vegetables, they have gardens where they grow apples, pears, cherries and grapes, they have fisheries, make honey and do crafts. To see and participate in these doings we are happy to present you agricultural tours!

Day 1. Moving Bishkek - Suusamyr valley - the village of Chaek (distance of about 370 km.)

The road passes through a tunnel, laid under the pass Tyuz-Ashuu, theheight of which is about 3586 m, then descends into the picturesque Suusamyr valley. Then your way goes to Zhumgalsky district, to the village of Chaek. Here you are welcomed by the hospitable poeple of the guest house "Tagay".
Before dinner, visit the museum. Dinner. Then you can visit the local theater and get in touch with folk art: listen to the sounds of folk instruments and Kyrgyz folk songs. (-/L/D)

Day 2. Village of Chaek - Lake Son-Kul

Sightseeing tour of the village. Next visit the fields, where the owners of the guest house grow buckwheat and collect buckwheat honey. Then you go to the high mountainous lake Son-Kul. This lake is located at an altitude of 3016 m above sea level and 45 km from the village of Chaek. On the shores of the lake, in the summer period, yurts are established. This is an amazing place, in terms of beauty and attractiveness. Huge herds of horses, flocks of sheep and herds of cows graze here throughout the warm season.
In one of the yurts, you will be waited by a dinner and hospitable hosts, who will introduce you to the nomadic way of life. The hostess will show a master class on preparation of boorsoks (pieces of pastry fried in oil). And each of you can participate in this. After lunch, you can take the horse for hire and test your skills in horse riding.
Then you will return to the village of Chaek. For dinner you will have buckwheat porridge and tea with buckwheat honey and of course there are many more "goodies" prepared by the hostess. (B/L/D)

Day 3. Transfer to At-Bashi district - Kyzyl-Tuu village

Stop in the center of the village of At-Bashi to take a few photos next to the monument in the form of a horse head lowered to the ground. This monument symbolizes the historical roots of the Kirghiz people - nomads. Then you will continue your journey to the village of Kyzyl-Tuu, but on the way make a stop in the village of Bash-Kaindy. Here you will get acquainted with farmers who are engaged in breeding fish. The hosts will cook for you. Fish for lunch you can catch yourself.
Further transfer to Kyzyl-Tuu village. The house of Rustam and Meerim is a two-story building. Near the house there is an atmosphere of a real villager. Their main occupation is the breeding of horses. (B/L/D)

Day 4. Kyzyl-Tuu village

Today you will fully immerse yourself in the life of a cattle-dweller. After breakfast, together with the owner of the house - Rustam you will go to hayfields. Places are hilly, therefore it is necessary, basically, to mow the hay manually. Mowing must be done early in the morning. A couple of hours of such work and you will get a huge charge of energy for the whole day. Then, together with the owner, choose a horse for yourself and pick up a comfortable saddle. Some useful tips will make you a good rider. And now you are going to your next one-day horseback tour in the neighborhood. The places here are very beautiful. Go back to this hospitable house in the evening for dinner. Mistress of the house - Meerim will teach you to prepare a real "Beshbarmak" and "Boorsok". And then, you can enjoy these dishes. Day 5. Karakol town

Transfer to Karakol town along the southern shore of Issyk-Kul. On the way visit the gardeners of the village of Barskoon who grow apples.
In Karakol, you will be accommodated in a guest house and then you will have a tour around a quiet and cozy city.
Visit the local bazaar, where products are sold, grown in their own gardens or on farm fields. Dinner will be in the cafe "Kench". All dishes, cooks prepare from the products of the farming of Aida and Askarbek. Tomorrow you will visit this farm and get acquainted with its owners.
In Karakol, there are two unique monuments worth visiting: the Dungan wooden mosque built in 1910 and a wooden Orthodox church built in 1878, as well as a historical museum. (B/L/D)

    

Day 6. Excursion trip to the village of Tepke, Ak-Suu district, farm "RaneKench".

The farm has everything: hospitable and hard-working masters; thoroughbred horses; cows and turkeys: a young garden is laid: vegetables are grown; magnificent scenery; a place where you can sit and enjoy all of this. Lunch which is prepared by the owner herself is simply a "royal dinner."
There are things to do and to see here. Accommodation on the farm. (B/L/D)

Day 7. Karakol – Bishkek

Transfer to Bishkek. Hotel accommodation. Recreation. Farewell dinner. Later in the night, the car will take you to the airport for a flight home. (B/L/D)

Day 1.  Osh

Today we will fly to Osh. Osh is known by its ancient mosques in the center of the town and also by Suleiman-Too (Sulaiman-Takhty, The throne of Solomon), which is one of the places of pilgrimage of central Asian Muslims. After lunch we will have an excursion to the sacred mountain Suleiman-Too. In one of the caves of the mountain we will visit the museum and then have some rest. Dinner. Overnight at the hotel. Day 2. Osh - Arslanbob 

Today in the morning we will be transferred to an amazing mountain range called Arslanbob. It has a large wild forest. The Arslanbob woodland is the largest walnut grove on earth. Kyrgyzstan's first known export to Europe was the Arslanbob walnut. Two waterfalls are located in the area which attract tourists, pilgrims and other visitors during the spring and summer months. We will have a little trek to the first waterfall which is about 25 m and the hike will take us about half an hour. After that we will walk to a panorama place from where you will be able to see the whole gorge. It is a great view and here we will have a little free time to enjoy the nature and make some pictures. Days 3-5. Arslanbob

These days we will help our local friends with nutting. In the morning we will get to the plantation of walnut trees. Most of the time the kids of the host or himself gets onto the tree and shakes it so that the nuts fall to the ground and that’s where we will help. We will pick all of the nuts from the ground and throw them into the bags. One tree could give up to 75 kg of nuts and this is the business of whole gorge folks along with cattle breeding. (B/L/D)

Day 6. Arslanbob - Chychkan

Today we will have another hike now to the second, big waterfall in Arslanbob which has the height of 80 m. This walk will take us about 2 hours and we will come back for lunch just in time to see the folk show with the national Kyrgyz instruments. After lunch we will continue our way to a green picturesque gorge called Chychkan where we will stay for the night in a cozy guest house. (B/L/D)

Day 7. Chychkan –Bishkek

This day we continue going to Suusamyr and soon we will dive into the green wide valley (steppe). The mountains surrounding it gave the valley so much space that for a moment one may forget being in the harsh mountain country. That’s the place nomads bring their yurts for the summer time. On the green grass canvas all these yurts look like white minarets. Coming back to Bishkek after lunch. Have lunch in the town. Evening city tour with visiting the main and old squares, Philharmonic hall with Manas complex and oak park. Accommodation in the hotel. Farewell dinner.
Later at night the car will take you to the airport for your flight home. (B/L/D)

Day 1. Bishkek - Osh

Today we will fly to Osh. Osh is the second biggest town of Kyrgyzstan after Bishkek with the population about 250 thousand people. It was one of the religious Muslim centers in Central Asia. It is known by its ancient mosques in the center of the town and also by Suleiman-Too (Sulaiman-Takhty, The throne of Solomon), which is one of the places of pilgrimage of central Asian Muslims. We will visit the original oriental bazaar where you may find anything wanted from souvenirs to clothes and Chinese porcelain. We will go through the handicrafts raw where people make all by hands like knifes, wooden cradles and many other things. After lunch we will have an excursion to the sacred mountain Suleiman-Too. Suleiman mountain is one of the most significant historical monuments in Kyrgyzstan. It is located in the center of Osh. Till the 16th century it was called Bara-Kukh. The triple ascent onto the mountain is considered to be equal to one Hajj to Mecca. In one of the caves of the mountain we will visit the  museum and then have some rest. Dinner. Day 2. Osh – Sary-Mogol (Tulpar-Kol lake)

This day will be a good experience for you as we are going to get to the yurt camp on the shore of Tupar-Kol lake under Lenin Peak from where all the expeditionaries and climbers start walking onto the summit. The summit itself is 7134 m and is not an easy mountain. From here there is a great view of the surrounding mountains and who knows maybe right here you will have a desire to be a mountain climber and conquer this peak. Overnight in yurts. (B/L/D)  

Day 3. Tulpar-Kol lake

This day you will have a chance to help the hosts with the cattle. You may get acquainted with the life of nomads, see their inner world, see how they breed the cattle, milk the cows, cook national food. If you have a desire you may have an excursion to the base camp of Lenin Peak.  Overnight in yurts. (B/L/D) 

Day 4. Sary-Mogol - Osh

We will leave Tulpar-Kol lake and come back to Osh where we will have rest and dive into the busy life of the town. Evening will be free. You may rest in the hotel or have a little walk in the evening town. Overnight in the hotel. (B/L/D)

Days 5-6. Cotton fields

These days we will get acquainted with the life of locals who has cotton fields and we will help them collect cotton. Full days on the fields. Overnight at the house of local residents. (B/L/D)

Day 7. Osh - Bishkek

In the morning we will have flight to Bishkek. Upon our coming to the capital we will have a city tour with visiting of main and old squares, Manas complex at the Philharmonic hall, oak park, Osh bazaar and central ZUM market. Farewell dinner in the evening and later at night the car will take you to the airport for our flight home. (B/L/D)

Day 1. Bishkek

Day 2. Bishkek – Kochkorka

In the morning we will drive to the village of Kochkorka. On the way we will visit the Historical and Archaeological Complex - Burana Tower. After that we will continue our way and upon arrival to the village stop at the home of local residents for lunch. We will visit with you the shop for the manufacture of felt products, and we will see how the ancient people did without modern tools and machines hand-finished felt rugs for their home - the yurt, also built without a single nail. Day 3. Kochkorka – Tash-Rabat

Transfer to “Tash-Rabat” caravan-serai, located on the bank of Kara-Koyun river. There is no doubt, it’s the most important representative of historical architecture, appeared in epoch of activization of the Great Silk Road on Tien–Shan. Walls of caravan-serai rise among powerful spines. It was erected in X century AC by local governor Mykhammed-khan on the ancient caravan road.
On the way we will also stop at the village of At-Bashi where we will visit the well-known cattle bazaar. Upon arrival accommodation in yurts. (B/L/D)

Day 4. Tash-Rabat

This day you will have a chance to try yourself in cattle breeding. In the morning you will get on a horse and take the cattle far into the mountains. You will enjoy the unity with the nature, have a little walk over the surrounding mountains and just relax. You may do a little hike to the hills to see the panorama of the place and make good pictures of Kyrgyz mountains. Have picnic at lunch and bring the cattle back in the evening. You will also try to milk the cow today and if you like you may drink fresh milk Overnight in yurts. (B/L/D)

Day 5. Tash-Rabat - Son-Kul 

This morning we will go to Lake Song-Kul. The lake is situated at the altitude of 3016m at the centre of a small plateau surrounded by a ring of mountain peaks, and is one of the most beautiful spots in Kyrgyzstan. The shores are dotted with yurts (nomadic tents), inhabited by Kyrgyz families who spend the summer up here with their animals (sheep, yaks and horses). Arriving at the camp on the southern shores of the lake, we will have lunch in a yurt, owned by a local Kyrgyz family. (B/L/D)

Day 6. Son-Kul

This day you will get on the horse and ride to the hills with the herd of cows, horses and sheep. Not far from the yurt camp you will find petroglyphs – the pictures of ancient people. Enjoy the great view of the lake from the top of the hills, make pictures, have picnic and get back to the camp in the evening. Kyrgyz people are known for mare’s milk making –Kumys. That’s what you may try to do this evening – milk the horse.

Day 7. Son-Kul – Bishkek 

Morning will be free to walk around and enjoy the view of Kyrgyz mountains and nature. After lunch going back to Bishkek. Accommodation in the hotel. Rest. Farewell dinner. Later at night the car will take you to the airport for your flight home. (B/L/D)
